"You Are a Gift!"

Thank you for the gift you have already given to The Storehouse of Collin County. Whether it is your time, your talents or your resources, you continuously reflect the understanding of how important it is to serve, rather than to be served, as neighbors of one community.

- You are the one who shares your time so selflessly.

- You are the one who kept working and serving despite all the challenges brought on by construction.

- You are the one who gives words of encouragement to a neighbor when it perhaps it was needed most.

- You are the one who has donated a sacrificial gift.

- You are the one who blessed a stranger by your service.

On our last distribution Saturday of 2019, we served 206 families, which was a historical, record breaking day. That Saturday, I was in awe of how calm our service was to our neighbors. Those present seemed to be grounded in a sense of peace and certainty, despite uncertain life circumstances. I believe it was the gifts of grace, mercy and love that our volunteers reflected that day that set the tone for such a warm and welcoming room. I also believe that day offers a hopeful glimpse into our days ahead.

As you begin to look at your 2020 calendar, I hope you will save Tuesday, January 21 at 6:30 pm for our annual State of the Storehouse meeting in which we will share our vision for 2020. This meeting will address how we will be prepared to serve the many more neighbors who will enter our doors in the new year. A formal invitation and rsvp will be sent to you the week of January 5.

Please accept my sincerest thanks and gratitude for all you have given to The Storehouse this year. It is my honor to serve amongst you all. May the gifts you have given so generously return to you a sense of peace and fulfillment for putting others before yourself!

Wishing you the merriest Christmas and all the best in 2020!

Your friend and neighbor,

Candace Winslow
